Architecture, design and form development of the project
We established a link between river and restaurant by a mutual domain, WATER. By taking an imaginative turn, where the site is thought to be covered with a thin layer of water and a big drop from river falls on it.
The form is an abstraction of a water droplet and the splash thereafter. The big glass dome replicates drop, along with the reflective glass which delivers the effect of water. The restaurant takes the visitors on a hypothetical ride and lands them inside a water drop. The experience of dining inside a big drop is what distinguishes it from the ordinary.
The open seating takes up the shape of water ripple which disperses in a concentric manner with descending levels. The spatial arrangement wins full advantage of the site. It offers visitors to enjoy the scenic view and feel the touch of the river.
An organic structure breaking the monotony of the site, helps itself become a popular architectural icon, which invites the audience. A wholesome experience is created for visitors. The idea of a big drop from the river encourages the viewer and visitor to think of the unusual and leaves a lasting impression. The restaurant preserves the authenticity of the river and gives a new definition to the association of river and restaurant.
Glass dome roof to have a maximum visual connection of the user with the natural surroundings including the river and cityscape.
Seating on the upper deck let the user be closer to the night sky and have an amazing experience.
The lower floor is dedicated to the services to keep it out of the way of the user.
The plan is condensed into a very small footprint for the user to have a greater connection with the natural surroundings.
